Carfax

Carfax has flooded the airwaves with advertising the past couple of months. Be careful out there, just because there is a clean Carfax does not mean that the car has never had any damage. If you pay cash to fix a car then it will not show up on Carfax.

Banks, Banks, Banks

So the government has regulated the banks so much that a guy with a 760 credit score, that makes $32,000 a month, $1000 a month mortgage, 1 credit card and had one negative on his credit four years ago can't buy a $40,000 car. But if you have a heartbeat and you are trying to make it the government will give you $8,000 cash on a house you can't afford in the first place. What is our world coming to? I want people to be happy but the government is a government and not a business, most of them have never run a business or they have been politicians for so long they forget how to run a business. This is going on a long dark path. Hope you have a flashlight.

Trust, Relationship, Honesty

Three words that mean nothing in the car business and that is on the dealer and customer side. The customer side is getting worse by the minute. Want to know why dealers have such a bad name because they are dealing with people that waste their time and will spend $100 to save $1. The world has spun out of control, or is it me? Was I brought up in such a different time and place that you build relationships and it may take longer but the outcome is so much better than saving $1000. I have bent over backwards to please my customers, hell I have even lost money so that I have a solid reputation and nobody cares because I can't save them that extra $1000 on a $125,000 car.
Beyond me some days.
But I do love it. I love the car business those days when you know you have found exactly what someone has been looking for and they love it.

Solve the problem

Why is it that so many people try to figure out who to blame instead of bypassing that and just solving the problem no matter who caused it? It is a complete waste of time to try and figure out why, when your customer is sitting there with a problem. Just solve the customers problem, then go back to why. Customer service is dead, I am building an auto dealership completely on service. I know, I know everyone will tell me it can't be done. But no will tell me why it can't be done.
See you in the trenches.
